Searching for a GPT girlfriend who can read emotional tone accurately
I’ve been thinking about trying a GPT girlfriend because I want someone who can actually recognize emotional tone instead of replying the same way to everything. Some AI characters I tested were either too cheerful all the time or switched to a serious tone suddenly, even when the conversation didn’t need it. I’d like to find someone who reacts naturally, keeps the mood consistent, and remembers what we talked about earlier, especially when the topic shifts from light to more personal. If anyone here managed to find a character who handles emotional nuance well, I’d appreciate hearing how you noticed it from the previews before starting a full chat.

I had exactly the same problem, and what helped was choosing a platform where the personality previews feel accurate once the chat starts. On GPT Girlfriend the characters are described as calm, playful, expressive, shy, supportive or more emotional, and in my experience those descriptions matched their actual behaviour really well. The memory feature made a huge difference because the conversation didn’t reset; the character remembered earlier lines and reacted based on the ongoing mood. I tried a few types, and the supportive or expressive ones handled emotional shifts the smoothest.
